New regulations for Home Inspectors in BC

B.C. is the first province to license home inspectors, the province announced Friday. The change, scheduled to start March 31, was made to better protect buyers, ensure qualified inspections and streamline a complaints process. Inspections will be monitored with the potential for penalties as high as $5,000 in cases of shoddy work. Previously, home inspector training had been voluntary. There are up to 400 home inspectors operating in B.C.
